Chris & Rukhsana… the e-session
This session ended up being exactly the opposite of what I expected! I’d met the couple on 2 occasions prior to the engagement session and felt I had a handle on their personalities but man was I wrong!!!!! Rukhsana told my numerous times how she hated having her photo taken and that though she’s excited for the pictures, she was also nervous. So, me being me… I did my best to reassure her that we would work through it together and have fun! Now, Chris on the other hand is super outgoing and I imagined he’d be completely at ease during the session and I planned to use his playful and easy-going nature to help Rukhsana relax! Well……. as it turns out, Rukhsana rocked it like a model right from the beginning and Chris, well, by the end he was loosening up!!! lol!!! Thanks to you both for lots of laughs and a great session, and especially to Rukhsana for helping make it easier on Chris

Hot engagement session… Mike and Amy!
Mike and Amy are absolutely a gorgeous couple!!! Very easy to capture beautiful shots of these faces… but what makes them both even more beautiful is their personalities! Genuinely lovely and unassuming couple… so totally into each other and fun fun fun!!!!! The second of 2 recent engagements sessions at the Falls and another wonderful couple willing to do anything brave and bold to get a great shot! Thanks guys for a wonderful afternoon. I’m sure the wedding will be amazing!!!!!
Jeff & Cara… in love!
Jeff and Cara so badly wanted a winter session for their engagement, but with the mild winter we’ve had it just didn’t seem likely… so we chose a location that was sure to have a least a little snow and lots of beauty! Jeff brought a very creative eye to this session and Cara had some wonderful ideas in mind about shots she loves! Together, we had a fantastic time and these two pulled off some amazing and brave stuff to get these images! Looking so forward to your wedding! Fiona & Cam Engaged!
Next, I introduce you to a lovely couple – Fiona and Cam. This was their e-session and their wedding will be coming up in March! Gorgeous couple… amazing and obvious connection… so in love! I can’t wait to see what the wedding brings, but for now… the soon-to-be-married Fiona and Cam!!!
Another fall engagement session
I have known this lovely couple for some time as the beautiful bride is my sister-in-law’s best friend! I feel so honored to be a part of their upcoming wedding day! Jenny & Lee… engaged ;)
These two are not only totally hot (my assistant that day actually whispered to me at one point during the shoot that this looks like something out of a Calvin Klein add), but so connected!!! You can just feel this incredible connection when they’re together… they’re so happy and it shows in their smiles, the way they look at each other, the body language… their eyes… WOW!!! I can’t wait to see what the wedding day brings! I’m so excited! Thanks for a great session! You guys really are amazing!!!
Brian & Stephanie… engaged :-)
Every time I add a new blog post I just want to talk about how fun the people are… and this is no exception!!! I need to challenge myself with some new descriptive words, but I am so lucky in that every single person I’ve ever worked with truly IS fun!!! Okay - time to try something different… Brian and Stephanie are a “brave” couple! We went out on the weekend in the cold weather for their e-session! Looking at Brian in his t-shirt just made me shiver but they trooped on and had fun (see… I can’t help it) regardless! I think we were outside for well over an hour, but they didn’t complain once and you’d never guess for how happy and connected they look in the photos (this is how they really are, so no magic!!!) Super lovely couple - I can’t wait for your wedding guys! Thanks for a fun session!!! Yes… FUN!!!
Daniel & Kerstine - e-session
I met Kerstine some time ago, as well as Daniel’s family, but Daniel remained a mystery to me until the day I got to do their engagement photos! He lives south of the border and is only in Calgary every once in a while, so we crossed our fingers for good weather the week of his September visit! It worked - it was a gorgeous day and these 2 looked absolutely wonderful together! Thanks for a fun session - you guys are such a lovely couple! I’m so looking forward to your wedding!

Kristie and Colin… the e-session
I was so excited when I met this couple - Colin is into rodeo and they both have a love for horses… so… that meant the photos were going to have a “ranch” feel to them - something I’ve always wanted to do!!! And to make it even more perfect - the included 2 handsome horses… and a cowboy hat! Yay!!! Already a stunning couple, they really shone in the session - absolutely beautiful inside and out! Thanks for inviting me to do this! And Colin… a special thank-you for all of your patience… the camera loved you! Congrats on your engagement!
Naomi & Jeff engaged!
My afternoon session in the Bragg Creek/Elbow Falls area last weekend was the e-session for Naomi and Jeff - another lovely and very photogenic couple! I was really worried throughout the session that the photos would end up identical to my morning session given the same locations, but thanks to tons of great ideas on their part and completely different lighting, they weren’t the same at all!!! These guys were tons of fun, brave near the falls, and up for anything! Thanks for the great session and I can’t wait for the wedding!

I had a wonderful day last Saturday doing two engagement sessions in Bragg Creek and Elbow Falls! My morning session was with Amanda and Trevor and we had so much fun! They were nervous about being on front of the camera but WOW!!! They totally rocked it! They’re absolutely natural in front of the camera and are so incredibly photogenic!!! You two looked so perfect, so in love and so happy!!! I can’t wait for your wedding - we’re going to have a blast!!! Thanks for coming out to Bragg Creek and the falls guys!!!
Jane & Henry… the e-session
One of the most wonderful things about what I do (quite aside from meeting cool and fun new people all the time) is learning new traditions and cultures! Last weekend, I shot a Chinese Engagement Session in Banff. Jane told me when we first met that she would like to have this session done while wearing her “western” wedding dress as it is a Chinese tradition… something I did not know until then! And very clever… she’ll get to wear that gorgeous gown more than once! Well… she looked absolutely stunning! Like she was born to be a model or a bride! And what a cute couple Jane and Henry make! We were followed all afternoon by a several friends of the couple all making sure they looked perfect in every photo! Thanks to them for their hard work, and thanks to Jane and Henry for such a fun session! Looking forward to the wedding!
Dawn & Phil e-session
Dawn and Phil are getting married this September and I had the chance to meet up with them for an engagement session last weekend. What a great way to get to know them before the wedding! These 2 were worried that they were camera shy, but they did an amazing job just be being themselves!!!
Melodie & Chris sunset engagement session
This was such a fun engagement session!!! Melodie and Chris agreed to meet me later in the evening to take advantage of some of the sunset light and the results were beautiful! I had such a tough time choosing photos for this post - both of them were so much fun and totally at ease in front of the camera! We ended up staying until dark we were all just having so much fun! Thanks guys for such a great time that night, and I can’t wait for this wedding!
Vince & Sarah… engaged!
Well, actually, they have been engaged for awhile, but I finally got the chance to take some photos of the lovely couple! Easter Sunday we headed over to Eau Claire Market and dodged all the kids engrossed in the big Easter Egg hunt to get a few engagement pics. Thanks for a fun afternoon Vince and Sarah! Chris & Erika engaged!
This was such a fun session! Chris and Erika were in Calgary on a ski holiday and were engaged just prior to coming here (they’re from New Jersey). The day was a little cold, but these 2 were more than happy to just have fun in the snow - rolling around, snowball fights, and just naturally being the fun and happy couple they truly are! They just look so great in front of the camera that it was really hard to choose just a few to post! Best wishes for your wedding in August!
